Omar Abdullah is expected to be the next Chief Minister in Jammu & Kashmir
The Jammu and Kashmir 2024 Assembly election results have brought significant shifts in the region's political landscape. The National Conference (NC)-Congress alliance has emerged victorious, securing a majority with over 50 seats. The NC won 42 seats, and Congress bagged 6, while the BJP came in second with 29 seats. This election marked the first since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 and was held across 90 constituencies.
Other parties, such as the People's Democratic Party (PDP), won 3 seats, and seven independents were successful in various constituencies. Additionally, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed one seat in Doda. Omar Abdullah is expected to be the next Chief Minister, as his party, the National Conference, played a dominant role in the victory
