Delhi / New Delhi :

New Delhi/ As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continues to announce a series of welfare schemes aimed at the city's residents. Party leader and Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, has now promised 24-hour clean water supply across the city, marking another significant electoral pledge.

Kejriwal stated, “We will ensure 24-hour clean water supply in Delhi by installing plants to remove ammonia and deploying 2,500 new tube wells.” To reinforce his point, Kejriwal inaugurated round-the-clock water supply in a colony under the Rajendra Nagar constituency, which he claims will soon be expanded across the entire city.

This announcement follows a series of other welfare schemes unveiled by AAP, including the Women Honor Scheme, Sanjeevani Scheme for senior citizens, financial guarantees for auto drivers, and scholarships for students.

Focus on Quality Water Supply

At the launch of a booster pumping station in Rajendra Nagar, Kejriwal and Delhi CM Atishi visited local residents to assess water quality. In a symbolic gesture, Kejriwal drank water directly from a tap, declaring it clean and safe for consumption. He emphasized that such measures are part of a broader vision to ensure basic necessities for every citizen in Delhi.

Other Major Schemes Announced

1. Women Honor Scheme

Under this scheme, women will receive ₹2,100 per month. Kejriwal emphasized that the registration for this scheme has already started in East Kidwai Nagar. He added that this initiative would provide financial independence to women and would be extended post-elections.

2. Sanjeevani Scheme for Senior Citizens

Launched from Jangpura, this scheme offers free medical treatment for citizens aged 60 and above. Beneficiaries can avail of treatments at private hospitals without incurring any costs, as all expenses will be covered by the Delhi government. Kejriwal assured that the initiative aims to provide a safety net to elderly citizens and has seen an overwhelming response since its registration began.

3. Auto Drivers’ Guarantees

To address the needs of auto drivers, Kejriwal has announced five key guarantees:

  • Life insurance of ₹10 lakh and accident insurance of ₹5 lakh.
  • Financial aid of ₹1 lakh for daughters’ weddings.
  • A uniform allowance of ₹2,500 twice a year.
  • Free coaching for competitive exams for auto drivers’ children.
  • Revival of the ‘Poocho App’ to connect drivers with commuters.

Scholarships for Dalit Students

AAP has also announced the Dr. Ambedkar Honor Scholarship to support Dalit students financially. This program aligns with the party’s agenda to uplift marginalized communities and provide equal opportunities for all.

Impact on Voters

With multiple schemes targeting women, senior citizens, and working-class communities like auto drivers, AAP has positioned itself as a pro-people party ahead of the elections. Kejriwal’s promises have generated considerable enthusiasm among residents, especially with the added assurance of benefits being accessible immediately upon registration.

What Lies Ahead

Kejriwal reiterated that the schemes are designed to address the immediate and long-term needs of Delhi’s citizens. From clean water to economic support for various sections of society, AAP aims to strengthen its connection with voters by addressing key issues head-on.
